Tchoukball!

Tchoukball (pronounced chukeball) is an indoor team sport developed in the 1970s by a Swiss biologist Hermann Brandt. His aim was to develop a team sport which did not involve the horrific injuries which he viewed as plaguing other sports. He believed “that sports should not only form champions, but also contribute to the creation of a better and more humane society”.

A sport that is gaining popularity fast, one can almost see shades of Handball, Captain Ball and Volleyball in this fusion sport. Tchoukball is a demanding sport but can be played by anyone at his or her respective level, irrespective of the players sex, age or physical abilities. Gaining much popularity is Tchoukball that is played on the beach instead of the standard indoor court. This provides a fresh perspective to this exciting game.

In our Tchoukball! programme, students will undergo different fun drills to achieve basic understanding and enjoyment of the game. They will learn the 3-step jump pass and shot, one of the most important elements of Tchoukball.

Tchoukball is an Sports Education Programme (SEP) endorsed programme by Sports First.
