A dance programme tailored to the needs of participants who require special attention. The aim of the programme is not to turn the participants into dancers, but to inculcate in them, some basic skills through dance. It could be view as an alternative training method to reach out to the participants through a fun and physically engaging activity.
Instructors would have gone through training conducted by professionals from the field of special education, namely Rainbow Centre Training & Consultancy, to learn more about the participants as well as applying strategies to facilitate and/or elicit responses to instructions towards dance, from the participants. Prior to the start of each new class, the instructors would have gone through the participants case file, or at least, to know the individual condition of each participant. For the programme, our trained instructors will work very closely with the participants’ primary care-giver/class teacher to set clear goals for each participant based on their individual ability.
The end goal of each program would be for the participants to have achieved the individual goals set for them by the instructor in terms of motor skill development as well as in their communications and socialization skills.

Level 2 follows closely to the structure laid out in Level 1, and is suitable as a progression of Level 1, or as a stand-alone programme suitable for participants with an intact mental faculty as it introduces the “imaginary” element into dance. So besides just emulating basic simple movements as demonstrated by the instructor, the instructor will encourage participants to engage their imaginary skills to influence their movement.
What the participants will experience is a fun class, besides just working on their motor functions, they will also be mentally stimulated to engage in imaginative play.

Level 3 follows closely to the structure laid out in Level 1 & 2, and is suitable as a progression from Level 1 or 2. It is a programme suitable for participants with a more intact and advanced mental faculty as it introduces the cultural element into dance, and has got 4 different choreographies for the participants to learn and remember.
Besides just teaching basic movements, with the participants emulating the simple movements as demonstrated by the instructor, the instructor will link the movement to the culture behind it. Example, a Malay hand/wrist movement will be taught to the participants, with the instructor clearly explaining that it is a movement adopted from the Malay culture. This way, the participants will learn to recognize distinct movements adopted from the 4 distinct cultures in Singapore through dance.
What the participants will experience is a challenging and fun class, with a variety of styles. Besides just working on their motor functions; they will also be mentally stimulated by music and movement from the different cultures in Singapore, as well as challenged by the need to remember 4 different choreographies.
