Movie Director takes you into the creative world of moviemaking. Participants will learn how to dissect a script and break it down before creating storyboards and shot lists for the movie. They will also be trained to create a vision for their movie and focus on the intended message. As movie directors, they will learn how to communicate with core members of the team and be a team leader and player, from working with actors to the various crew members. Participants will be given an opportunity to direct a short movie of their own.
Movie Producer brings participants into the business of moviemaking, which is ultimately a combination of art and business. Participants will be trained to think like businessmen and exposed to various modes of funding and investments for movie. They will also learn the importance of networking, marketing and publicity in order to get the film produced and distributed. Fund management, budgeting and censorship issues will also be dealt with. Participants will be given an opportunity to produce a short movie of their own.
Cinematographer emphasises on the more technical aspect of moviemaking such as lighting, camera and lenses. Framing and visual composition like Mise en Scene will also be covered in order to develop a good visual sense in the participants. Participants will understand the goals of the director in order to fulfill the indented vision of the movie. Participants will be given an opportunity to shoot a short movie of their own.
Movie Editor focuses on storytelling through various editing theories and techniques. Participants will also be trained to develop a good sense of rhythm and pacing in order to engage the audience and evoke emotional responses in them through editing. They will also learn to be good team players, working with the directors and producers to achieve the optimal results. After-effects and animation will also be taught to raise the storytelling process to another level. . Participants will be given an opportunity to edit a short movie of their own.
Production Manager takes participants behind the scenes into the world of production management, where they get hands-on experience with the logistics and production aspects of moviemaking. They will learn to budget for the movie, scouting for the right locations according to the director’s requirement, as well as scheduling to ensure that the movie is shot within a realistic time frame to save cost. Participants will be given an opportunity to work as a production manager during a short movie production.
