Digital Fine Arts & Imaging

DigiArtz!

This programme is designed to equip students with the understanding and ability to create their own digital artworks. Students will be exposed to art history and various art concepts. In addition, students will learn how to apply elements of art and principles of design to their digital artwork.

Squiggle Art (Doodling)

This programme specializes and caters for students to create original art from their imaginative minds, using random lines & abstract forms. Generally, the idea of scribbling is to draw without lifting the drawing device off the paper. With that, students can focus & “see” certain artistic objects from the messy lines and add in sketchy graphics or items such as a cartoon ear, a comic hat, a book etc. At the end of the programme, students will be able to create a scribble artwork from another angle & perspective. Students will also learn to apply elements of art and principles of design to their digital artwork.

Corp D’zign (Corporate Identity Design)

A brand is the identity or seal of a product, service or business, which can take many forms including a name, sign, symbol, colour combination or slogan. In this programme, students will get down to “serious business” and create their original logo design, representing their ideal marketing entity. Students will learn how to apply elements of art and principles of design to create their logo design and package it as a corporate marketing kit.

Grafito D’zign (Digital Graffiti Art)

Graffiti design is often mistaken & misunderstood as an act of vandalism to the public, which is punishable by law. This programme allows students to digitalise graffiti design freely from their own unique designs and to recognize this as a modern art style. Students will learn how to apply elements of art and principles of design to create graffiti artwork.

Toon D’zign (Digital Cartooning)

The objective of this programme is to develop an original cartoon character. Being a cartoonist, one has to take these qualities into consideration to make the characters lifelike and believable. Students will be able to draw rough “idea” sketches, giving the type and nature of the character they wish to create. Students will also develop the basic shape of the figure and add the features and other details. With the aid of a drawing editor, they are to re-create their sketches on a digital canvas, applying effects and visual textures to bring them to life.

Anime D’zign (Digital Anime Art)

This programme is based on the art of drawing and painting Japanese Manga. Students will learn to develop artistry and aesthetic techniques of drawing, sketching and colouring of anime characters. With the aid of a paint editor, students are to digitalise their sketches and re-create their anime characters on a digital canvas, applying effects and visual textures to make them come alive.

Bloc-face D’zign (Digital Mural Painting)

Murals are significant in that they bring art to the public, often recognised and commissioned by the government. In this programme, students will use murals to express their feelings, moods and character graphically. They will also learn to digitalise & super-impose on an image to illustrate the existence of mural paintings that they have designed.

Quartz D’zign (Digital Stained Glass Art)

Stained glass requires the artistic skills to conceive an appropriate and workable design, followed by the engineering skills to assemble the piece, which has been described as ‘illuminated wall decorations’. Students will be exposed to various techniques such as painting, sponging, marbling and etching. They will then conceptualize and create their own digital stained glass artwork in a paint editor, applying effects to enhance their visual textures and its opacity.

Tessella D’zign (Digital Mosaic Art)

The art of mosaic has been cultivated in this world for thousands of years. A mosaic in digital imaging consists of non-overlapping images arranged in some tessellation. The objective of this programme is to create a digital mosaic artwork using tools on paint software. Prior to this, students will learn techniques of cutting, arranging and grouting to illustrate artistic impressions of mosaic art.

Froz’ Tees (T-shirt Design)

Students will learn how to design T-shirts using geometric compositions, distinctive fonts & simple graphics. At the end of the programme, students will get their designs fabricated on their T-shirts or jerseys.
