‘The Adventures Of Captain Goodspeaker’ is a 25 minute skit that tells the story of two amiable superheroes, Captain Goodspeaker and his trusty sidekick Miss Spell, who venture through Singapore to save people from speaking bad English. Unlike most typical Speak Good English programmes, this one is aimed particularly at Primary school children, and the educational aspects of the skit are intertwined with humorous story line and engaging characters.
The examples of bad English presented in the skit are both local and international. Children will learn why local Singaporeans say the things they do, how to pronounce certain words properly, as well as understand how non Singaporeans would percieve ‘Singlish’ if they had never heard it before.
Ultimately, some of the important factors for showcasing these educational skits are to be fun and engaging, and this skit does exactly that. Children will learn new things about the English grammar but they will most definitely enjoy the process of learning also.
‘There’s A Sport For Everyone!’ is a half an hour programme that showcases several types of sports that are encountered by Chee Keong, a school student looking for a sport to join for his CCA. As the central figure, Chee Keong will represent the average student who with the help of his friend Ken, journey through a number of different sports in an attempt to find one that is right for him. With humorous stumbles along the way, and a little encouragement, Chee Keong finally finds the right sport for himself, and one that is growing a nationwide appeal, dance.
This programme will be presented as a mini musical, with songs, lyrics and dance routines composed and choreographed by our in house artistes. As Chee Keong and Ken journey through the various sports, a song and dance routine will accompany the start of each sport. These routines are short and fun and all lead up to a finale song preformed by the entire cast, a performance that will undeniably captivate the young audience. In addition to the songs, all the sports are represented in a comical way that tie in with Chee Keong’s journey.
A programme that showcases sports, humor, music and dance, audience interaction, team work and the will to never give up, ‘There’s A Sport For Everyone’ will charm and entertain any child as well as encouraging the notion of sport as a healthy lifestyle.
