This specially developed programme exposes students to both Modern Dance and Jazz Dance. This programme is a medium-high energy dance, which extracts the faster pace of modern dance and Jazz Dance. Students will be taught simple movement in both of the dances. With the simple dance movement that they have learnt they will dance to a fast and challenging pace of music. Being a medium-high energy dance, student can receive a body work out as they dance. The programme is one that focuses on the essence f both dances, which is stylistic in Jazz and artistic in Modern Dance.
This workshop incorporates elements of modern jazz with the theatrical art of mime. Students will learn to interpret the mood of the music piece and the choreography taught will exploit creative movements and facial expressions to personify the “emotion” of the music.
This programme focuses on spirited leaps, turns and basic acrobatics used in dance – frequently seen in dance forms like ballet, jazz and even Chinese dance. This class is inspired by the basics of gymnastics incorporated with the grace and dexterity of jazz. Flexibility and strength are key features of this programme and each class will commence with an overall body warm-up. Simple choreography will be taught and incorporated with jazz turns and jumps etc.
Students will learn the fundamentals of several dance forms and how to identify the difference between each dance form. For instance, classical ballet uses pointe and emphasizes on beautiful lines; jazz dance is fast, percussive with lots of body isolations while African dance incorporates strong, rhythmic stamping, kicking and shaking styles with body contractions, etc. students will understand the techniques involved using shapes, space, speed and lines to show the various impact on a dance move and the mood it portrays. Once students can distinguish the different dance forms they can now include these various elements and inspiration from each style in creating their own choreography. This class aims to arouse creativity and imagination in the students but regimented with the discipline of basic dance technique.
This programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn about the performance arts in the form of dance and through a media (animation). Students will learn the basic techniques necessary to choreograph and perform a dance item and/or the animation and conceptualization skills required in producing animated media. In doing so, students will be given the opportunity to combine both mediums of performance together, working together in exploring and pushing the boundaries of both mediums as they combine to produce a truly multi-media performance.
This programme introduces students to various aspects of theatre dance performance and production. Students will be exposed to various aspects of stage production including stage management, lighting, sound, costumes and props/sets engineering and how it relates to the dance performances. In addition, the programme will provide a friendly and conducive environment to facilitate the development of students’ confidence, creative expression, social skills, life skills, co-ordination and motor skills through dance and acting.
This unique class fuses the art of traditional, Asian cultural dance (Chinese, Malay, Indian) with contemporary dance (jazz basics), this programme aims to inspire students to learn about another culture through dance and to increase their awareness of body movement as well as their imagination through witnessing how 2 dance styles can be merged into an enjoyable physical experience.
A specially designed programme to expose students to the art of flag twirling using short flags whilst exposing students to different movements from the various types of ethnic dances, i.e. Malay dance, Chinese dance, Indian dance and Eurasian dance. Students will also be taught the different ways of handling the flags, thus forming many interesting patterns in the dance formations. Simple leg movements either on the spot or traveling across the stage will also be taught. Coupling the two, students will go through a full body workout through the specially choreographed movements. With the training of our qualified instructors, students will be led into a dance performance of flag twirling.

Funk is a form of dance that blends contemporary street movements and Hip-Hop styles incorporating with jazz dance techniques. With an emphasis on style and rhythm, this form of dance will help to improve coordination, poise and posture amidst offering a fun workout for the musically inclined. Students will be taught proper warm up routines like the basic opening stretches, across-the-floor exercises with a center combination before advancing to learn the dance. Students will not only be introduced to the importance of rhythm, groove and techniques but also to engage them in a style-filled routine like seen in the latest pop music videos.
Evolved out of street and break dancing moves. A funky dance class taught to the latest funk, rap and R&B music. It is characterized by its vigorous athletics and bouncy style. This is a dance programme that introduces basic movement control techniques to the latest popular music with a variety of rhythms. It emphasizes on the coordination of arm patterns, body movements with simple dance steps. Meanwhile strengthening of upper and lower body strength and alignment. It is also designed to refine dance techniques and performance quality. At the end of the program, students will able to grasp the essence of Hip Hop.
The Journey of Dance includes the introduction of history, distinctive dance techniques and costumes worn for the respective dance. There will also be time dedicated for hands on sessions where students will be able to participate with the artistes after the introduction.
Modern Dance has developed from the work of pioneers like Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Jose Limon and Merce Cunningham since the turn of the century. Like ballet or jazz, Modern technique develops strength, flexibility, tone, coordination, grace, posture and poise in the mover. But it is unique in its emphasis of natural movement patterns in the body and in fostering individual expression. Modern Dance often goes hand-in-hand with improvisation and original choreography.
An exhilarating class for students to learn how to create sound and music with their feet and other props, which will be made from recycled materials (students will be taught on how to do this in class). As percussion instruments are said to be the “heartbeat” of any song, stomping actions and fancy footwork inspired by tap jazz will prove this to be a fun and educational class.
This dance programme emphases a lot on dance techniques focusing on the variation of footwork. To illustrate that all movement originates from a strong centre (solar plexus, spine and pelvis) this course will focus on body isolations and contractions. It is a high intensity dance integrating hops and turns and fast footwork to ensure a fun introduction to dance for beginners.
This dance programme introduces basic movement control techniques to the latest popular music with a variety of rhythms. Evolved from street moves refined as seen in the latest pop music videos. Students will be taught proper techniques on warming-up, center-work, across-the-floor movements and the various terminologies used in Street Jazz movements. Focusing on body contractions, flexed feet movements, and off-centre body shape, this programme aimed to improve balance, coordination, flexibility, posture and sense of rhythm.
Students will be introduced to the art of flag twirling using short flags and simple martial arts techniques. Students will be taught the different ways of handling the flags while incorporating martial arts movements.
