Painting Programmes

Abstraction

An abstract art is one without a recognisable subject. It does not relate to anything external or attempting something that looks alike. Instead the colours, forms and of the the materials are the subject of the abstract painting. This programe engages students to debelop works which are completely non-objective or non-representational. They will use, extensively, elements and principles of art and design when creating good abstract composition.


Brush and Ink

Watercolor or ink painting is generally comsidered among the earliest art medium. The fluid nature of watercolour or ink means that it is perfect for creating washed of translucent colour and attractive tones. This programme helps students to better understand on how to apply the basic techniques of watercolour painting when painting an object or a subject such as washes, opaque, erasing, tinting glazing, wet in wet, dry brush and lifting off.


Dipping It!

Tie-dyeing is a multi-layer process involving a blend of applied chemistry, visualisation and artistic techniques. When successfully fused, this combination results in intricate images of brilliantly used colours. This programme equips students with information on how to safely handle dyes and chemicals, understanding colour mixing, folding and tying patterns, dye application techniques, the actual dye reaction and washout resulting in quality art pieces.


Fabric Painting

Fabric painting is in fact the most ancient art of painting dating bacj to as early as 3000 B.C. This programme allows students to experience using different fabric materials and paints. They will execute beautiful paintings using amazing colouring techniques.


Glass Painting

The subjects for glass painting are extensive, ranging from landscapes, animals and fishes to exotic flora and fauna. This programme allows students to explore various techniques of galss painting from drawing an image and outlining using black paint to painting using transparent liquid paint.


Leather in Colours

This programme engages students in the art of treating leather before painting on it and introduces the step-by-stpe drawaing and painting techniques using gesso as primer and water-based acrylic paint as the painting medium. They will learn to develop vibrant compositions using elements and principles of art, working from appropriate themes and subject matters. They will be taught basic leather crafting works such as cutting, braiding and weaving to complete a fine piece of work.


Polyshrink Art

Shrink art is a great and economical way to create a unique accessories and craftworks. When heated, it shrinks to about 30% to 45% of the original size. Students will experience applications such as basic outline drawing and colouring with dye ink or colour pencils.


Spray and Spatter

Graffiti is a type of art form appearing in the forms of sinke written words to elaborate wall paintings. Today, this art form is worth of display in galleries and exhibitions. This programme helps students to understand the different types and styles if graffiti art and also how to create a large grafitti art piece through a step-by-step creative process and techniques.


Wall Art

A mural is a forefront tool of an artist’s means of expression. From futuristic and renaissance to grahic and gothic, students are brought through a journey of learning about the different art types to express themselves through the usage of murals. From initial sketches to 2D drawing or 3D finishings, students are taught the rigours of mural painting and the processes they would use to reach such a destination.


Wax Resist & Dye

Traditional batik technique, which originated from Indonesia, uses liquid wax. This programme engages students in developing a design, drwaing on paper with dry candlestick and immersing with a combination of batik inks, which resist the waxed areas. When the candle wax is melted with hot ironingm the pattern is then visible. Students are encouraged to explore and repeat the process for each colour and to experiment on textured paper as well.


Wet & Dry Style

Watercolour and ink painting is a painting method. In this programme, students will gain a deeper insight into how to paint with watercolours and ink, exploring the various drwaing and painting techniques.
